While researching this phrase, I discovered that in Spain they say "Inventar la pólvora" (Invent gunpowder) and in Cuba "Inventar el agua tibia" (Invent lukewarm water). Every day you learn something new! And that's what my post today is about, which relates to my previous article "I already knew that".
Why hire a consultant?
One of the reasons to hire a consultant is because there are always topics that are unknown to you. Either because it's not your area of expertise, because there's too much information out there, or simply because you forgot. A consultant, coach, mentor, or advisor guides and accompanies you to find or rediscover the path to your goals in less time.
We don't reinvent the wheel, we make it spin better
We don't reinvent the wheel, but rather we share proven and objective tools for you to apply and achieve your professional goals faster. Otherwise, it may take you longer to get that promotion, that new challenge, or to successfully start your own business.
I myself have a mentor who guides me when I stray, because it's easy to fall into a routine and forget what sets us apart. It doesn't mean we don't know those tools exist, but rather that we forget how to use them efficiently.
Consistency is key
Many expect consultations to reveal something revolutionary, but sometimes it's about recognizing if you're using the right tools consistently.
Think about daily actions that affect your professional image: shaving, dressing appropriately, taking care of your body language and mood. We all know they're important, but sometimes we neglect them.
Examples of success
This year, two of my clients who were managers were promoted to directors thanks to their effort and the application of tools that helped them grow. Another client is nominated for director after 25 years in the company, demonstrating that there's always room for growth.
The world of successful people
Successful people maintain high standards and are consistent. Leaders know that sacrifices must be made to excel. It's up to you to achieve your goals.
So every time you think "I already know that", remember that there's always room for improvement. Do your actions, appearance, and communication reflect a successful executive presence?
