Updated: Sep 30

A few days ago, I had a very interesting chat with Chava Vázquez, an expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI). We talked about how AI is changing the world of business and where he thinks this technology is headed. It was a very revealing conversation!

But before we get into the topic, who is Chava Vázquez?

Chava is a telecommunications engineer with a master's degree in Financial Engineering from UNAM. He is passionate about technology and entrepreneurship. He worked for companies like Conekta and Kavak before joining Google in 2022 as an artificial intelligence specialist, where he worked on projects in various industries, always with a focus on privacy, security, and user data governance. In February 2023, he took on a new challenge as Venture Capital Program Manager at Google. From this position, he supports a portfolio of 100 startups and shares his experience and knowledge at events in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

What is Artificial Intelligence and Big Data?

Basically, Artificial Intelligence seeks to create systems that think and act like us, while Big Data is about handling huge amounts of information quickly to understand internet users.

Will AI take our jobs? Not necessarily!

While AI automates some tasks, such as chatbots in customer service, robots in factories, or the ability to generate images and text using AI, also creates new jobs and opportunities. We are seeing roles such as data scientists, AI engineers, and AI ethics specialists emerge. The key is to adapt and learn new skills!

What skills will we need in the AI era?

AI challenges us to develop skills such as critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and adaptability. These human skills will be increasingly valuable in a world where AI takes care of routine tasks.

AI tools for everyday life

Chava told me about Gemini for Workspace and Gemini Advance, two artificial intelligence tools from Google that can help us organize ourselves better and process information more efficiently. Gemini for Workspace helps us write emails, summarize documents, and translate texts in real time, while Gemini Advance goes a step further, allowing us to generate images, analyze the emotional tone of texts, and even write code. These tools allow us to save time, improve the quality of our work, and make more informed decisions. In the interview, Chava mentioned other tools and startups in the United States, each with a different focus, but all equally relevant.

The future of AI: What awaits us?

The future of AI is exciting! New businesses, solutions to problems like pollution, and incredible scientific advances are coming. But the most important thing is to use it for the good of all.

If you want to know more about Chava and his work, you can find him on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X. And if you're interested in watching the full interview, here's the video.

Artificial Intelligence is here to stay, and its impact on our lives is just beginning. Preparing for this new scenario is crucial, but so is reflecting on its ethical and social implications. How can we ensure that AI benefits all of humanity? What role do we want it to play in our lives? The conversation is just beginning, and your voice is important! Have you used AI in your work? What do you think about using it in favor of leadership and how does it influence your transformation? Share your ideas and join the debate about the future of AI.
